A select number of fully-funded bursaries are available to allow outstanding students to pursue postgraduate study (MA/PhD) in the Department of European Languages & Cultures at Lancaster University. For details, please visit: http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/european-languages/postgraduate/fees-and-funding/

The research area must fit with the Authors & the World interdisciplinary research hub www.authorsandtheworld.com. This initiative was founded by staff in DELC in 2014, but draws in researchers from a range of cognate disciplines both within and beyond Lancaster (notably Contemporary Arts, Cultural Studies, English Literature & Creative Writing, Film Studies, Linguistics, Politics and Sociology). Core research areas include Literary Lives & Afterlives, World Authorship, and Multimodal forms of Writing. The hub’s work is further defined by its cross-cutting emphases on celebrity, translation, and the digital. Supervision for research into the Francophone, Hispanic or German-speaking contexts of authorship is available within the department. We also actively encourage interdisciplinary research proposals that may require co-supervision with other departments.

For more information about the research hub, please contact Rebecca Braun: r.braun@lancaster.ac.uk

For more information about the application process, please see http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/how-to-apply-for-postgraduate-study/ and address enquiries to the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Charlotte Baker: c.baker@lancaster.ac.uk

Please note the deadline for application is Friday 15th April 2016, but we encourage interested individuals to get in touch with us for a preliminary exploration of the proposed research as soon as possible.
