We encourage young researchers to apply for

2 PhD-scholarships (12 – 18 months)

in the binational research double PhD-program Ethnicity in Motion held by the Universidade Federal Fluminense (Niterói, RJ, Brazil), Prof. Dra. Mônica Savedra, and by the Europa-Universität VIADRINA (Frankfurt/Oder, Germany), Prof. Dra. Konstanze Jungbluth, jointly sponsored by CAPES and DAAD (PROBRAL II: Visa à dupla-titulação de doutorandos). Candidates should be fluent in one of the two languages, German or (Brazilian) Portuguese, and ready to learn the other. When focusing on Italian communities, Italian could be another choice. Since the PhD-program deals with ethnicity constructions by means of language use your focus could be on the language use in classroom, schoolyard and family OR on the political, administrative and pedagogical aspects that set its frame.
