Exposé

In the period between Marinetti’s death in 1944 and 2009, thousands of publications have examined the multifaceted aspects of the Futurist movement. It has become difficult, even for specialists, to keep an overview on such a vast array of books and essays. The centenary year 2009 offered an opportune moment to compile a bibliographic survey of the most significant studies on the artists who were actively involved in or, in a certain phase of their career, inspired and influenced by the movement. It covers a variety of aesthetic genres and media in which Futurism had a particularly noteworthy impact. Altogether, the handbook contains 25,000 bibliographic entries in two volumes of c. 1,800 pages.
