Das Forschungsprofil des Lehrstuhls Professor Aria Adli und des angegliederten Sociolinguistic Lab (www.sociolinguisticlab.koeln) umfasst die Untersuchung von Variation, wobei die Verbindung von Theorie und Empirie im Vordergrund steht: Theoretisch relevante Strukturphänomene aus formalen Kernbereichen werden mit Hilfe empirischer Daten und quantitativer Verfahren untersucht und adäquate empirische Methoden (Korpuslinguistik, Annotationsstruktur, Datensammlung und -auswertung) weiterentwickelt.

IHRE AUFGABEN
» Eigene Forschungstätigkeiten im Bereich des skizzierten Forschungsprofils; mindestens eine romanische Sprache muss schwerpunktmäßig vertreten sein
» Hinarbeiten auf Publikationen
» Mitarbeit am Tagesgeschäft des Lehrstuhls, inklusive Drittmitteleinwerbung, Prüfungen, Workshops
» Lehre im Umfang von 2 SWS im Bereich moderne Linguistik in Bezug auf romanische Sprachen (darunter Französisch/Spanisch) in formalen Kernbereichen

IHR PROFIL
» Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium in Linguistik oder Philologie mit linguistischem Schwerpunkt
» Gute nachgewiesene Sprachkompetenz in mindestens einer romanischen Sprache sowie Kenntnisse linguistischer Phänomene in mehr als einer romanischen Sprache
» Deutschkenntnisse oder die Bereitschaft, sich diese indi- viduell innerhalb der ersten 6 Monate anzueignen
» Gute Kommunikationsfähigkeit und allgemeine Teamfähigkeit, um in Absprache mit dem Lehrstuhlleiter zu einem guten organisatorischen Ablauf des Tagesgeschäfts beizutragen
» Solide Ausbildung in formaler Linguistik
» Kenntnisse im Bereich Variation, Sprachwandel und empirische Methoden erwünscht
» Präsenz an der Universität zu Köln ab Einstellung

Die Stelle ist ab dem 01.04.2018 in Teilzeit (50% / 19,92 Wochenstunden) zu besetzen. Sie ist bis zum 31.03.2020 befristet, ggf. Verlängerungsmöglichkeit um weitere zwei Jahre. Sofern die entsprechenden tariflichen und persönlichen Voraussetzungen vorliegen, richtet sich die Vergütung nach der Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.

The research profile of the chair of Professor Aria Adli and the Sociolinguistic Lab (http://sociolinguisticlab.cologne) includes the investigation of variation through combining theoretical and empirical studies. Relevant structural phenomena from formal key areas are studied via empirical data and quantitative methods, and useful empirical methods (e.g. corpus linguistics, annotation structure, data collection and analysis) are refined.

YOUR TASKS
» conduct independent research within the chair‘s field of research; at least one Romance language has to be the object of study
» aim to publish findings
» participate in day-to-day business of the chair including work on grant proposals, workshops, exams and literature review etc.
» teach one class per semester in modern linguistics (bachelor level) with Romance languages as main focus (includ. either French or Spanish) and covering formal key areas

YOUR PROFILE
» M.A. in linguistics or philology with emphasis in linguistics
» rounded training in formal linguistics
» proficient and documented language skills in at least one Romance language and expertise of linguistic phenomena in more than one Romance language
»knowledge of German; candidates without prior knowledge must be willing to gain a good command of the language within the first six months
» good communication skills & works well in a team to coordinate day-to-day-business in collaboration with the head of the chair
» knowledge of language variation and change as well as of empirical methods is a plus
» on-site presence at the University of Cologne upon recruitment

The position is available from the 01. April 2018 on a 50% time basis. It is limited to the 31. March 2020, possibility of another two-year extension. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
