The following position is to be filled from October 1, 2023, at the Centro de Estudos Galegos (CEG):

Research Associate (f/m/d)

part-time

For 19,75 hours a week with a fixed contract duration of two years.

The Centro de Estudos Galegos (CEG) of Heidelberg University is a research institution dedicated to teaching, researching, and promoting the Galician language, culture and literature. The center was established in 1995 with the support of the Xunta de Galicia (the autonomous regional government of Galicia) and has been part of the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS) since 2019.

Your tasks:

Teaching Galician language, literature and culture, using a contrastive approach to other romance languages if necessary Assisting in research projects on Galician language, culture and literature Planning academic events aimed at promoting the Galician language, culture and literature Assisting with organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

Master’s degree in Galician philology, any other Romance language philology, Ibero-American studies, translation and interpreting, theoretical or applied linguistics, cultural or literature studies as well as related fields, with a specialization in the Galician language Galician as a first language, mother tongue, or equivalent language proficiency

Also welcome are:

Knowledge of German and/or English First experience in research, especially in the fields of linguistics and translation studies Teaching experience, preferably at the university level
