The aim of this Workshop is to decide to what extent substratal influence can be crucial for Creole Genesis. Substratal phenomena will be also confronted with first and second language acquisition universals. Several characteristics of (Spanish-based) Palenquero Creole, (Portuguese-based) Cape Verdean Creole and French Guianese Creole will be highlighted and discussed. Conferences by Armin Schwegler, Miguel Gutiérrez Maté, Yves Moñino, Jürgen Lang, Evelyn Wiesinger and Silke Jansen.
